EDE (Equinox Desktop Environment is small and very portable desktop environment designed to be very lightweight in memory and resource usage.
Details
EDE can be used on very old hardware and various devices, but this doesn't mean you can't put it on the latest technology. Designed according to the Unix philosophy, it offers separate executables for each component to “do one job and do it good”. This makes EDE very modular and also easy to alter for any user's special needs and requirements. It uses C++ features sparingly, yielding fast startup, low memory usage and great portability. It also uses the FLTK (Fast Light Toolit) GUI which offers a familiar look and feel.
